TO DROWN, BUT NOT TO MOVE"

THINGS SEEN BETWEEN 14-17 AUGUST 2007

1.WE'RE GONNA GO DANCING!! (A++++++++++)
This is a Japanese and Thai dance performance at Patravadi Theatre. I like "DEAD 1+" (performed by Ko&Edge Co.) and NAHANAHA (performed by Masako Yasumoto) very much. I can't believe DEAD 1+ is performed by human beings. NAHANAHA also uses some great songs which remind me of Laurie Anderson.

2.SPIRITUAL DECORATION: ART IN EVERY DAY LIFE EXHIBITION (A+)

This is an exhibition of artworks in the basement floor of Silom Galleria. The works are made by various artists. My most favorite are furniture made by Thitiporn Chanwangsa and paintings made by Wasittee Kemsawas.

7.THE SERPENT'S EGG (1977, Ingmar Bergman, A-)
From video

I think I don't know some background information about this film. Is this film concerned with Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch in November 1923?
It seems the story of this film happened around the same time with that historic event, though that historic event is not portrayed directly in the film. I think I need to read more about this historic event.

I think one interesting thing about this film is that it makes me wonder how Ingmar Bergman might have felt while shooting this film which portrayed evil Nazis, because Bergman admitted that he used to be a great admirer of Adolf Hitler. I guess that after WWII, Bergman might have felt some kind of disillusion, and making THE SERPENT'S EGG, which seems to condemn Nazi, is like condemning himself in the past.
