Some reservations on TO WONG FOO THANKS FOR EVERYTHING, JULIE NEWMAR (1995, Beeban Kidron, A+++++)

This is from a friend's Facebook:

I like this film very much, though I think this film is a perfect example of how Hollywood likes to cheat the audience about the feelings of the characters. This film doesn't show us at all how Jason London's character reacts to the fact that the girl he pursues is actually a man. After the truth is revealed, we can see Jason London's character dance in the party. It is as if his feelings don't matter at all. On the contrary, TOMBOY (2011, Céline Sciamma, A+) treats this kind of thing much better.
